Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,000 m

Avalanche Activity

The mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger.

The new snow and wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, on steep shady slopes at high altitude. Especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and at the base of rock walls mostly small avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Wind slabs are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. The avalanche prone locations are rather rare. The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze.
