Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 1,700 m
  • Wet snow

    • 1,700 m–2,000 m

Avalanche Activity

The visible wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger.

In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls visible wind slabs formed. Especially on wind-loaded slopes and on steep slopes more small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

The solar radiation will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular in the Prealps below approximately 2000 m. Below approximately 1400 m only a little snow is lying.
