Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be mostly firm and icy with good stability all areas. Isolated accumulations of windslab and softer deposits will be present above 900 metres on South-West through West to North-West aspects. These will be generally shallow and not extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Mostly dry with the freezing level around 400 metres. Fresh East-North-East winds will back North-North-West and steadily decrease to become moderate. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and bright day with the freezing level around 500 metres. Fresh to moderate East-North-Easterly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is mostly firm, icy and stable in all areas. Isolated accumulations of windslab and softer deposits exist primarily in wind-sheltered locations above 900 metres on South-West through West to North-West aspects. These are generally shallow and avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
