Points saillants
Overnight temperatures in the mountains stayed above freezing or barely fell below freezing at many locations. In the mountains today air temperatures will rise well into the 40's. Areas of unstable snow will develop as temperatures warm and snow surfaces soften. At the mid and upper elevations riders and skiers who venture onto very steep slopes could trigger dangerous hard slabs to the ground and pockets of surface slab up to 18 inches deep. At the lower elevations most steep slopes have a shallow snowpack or are bare.
