Points saillants
At the upper elevations ridgetop northerly winds have formed new pockets of surface slab up to one foot in depth on leeward aspects. At all elevations a weak layer of buried faceted snow persist at a depth of one to three feet and is a potential failure surface. This problem layer has been sensitive to human triggers during the past 10 days. With warm air moving in aloft and abundant sunshine in the forecast sunballing and loose snow sluffs are possible on steep sunlit aspects.
