Avalanche Summary

The threat of triggering an avalanche is slowly decreasing, but many slopes remain dangerous. Steep, high-elevation, north-facing slopes still have some concerning weak layers that could fail if you find a connected slab on an open piece of terrain.

Wet snow problems are also a threat on steep slopes. If your feet sink deep into wet snow or you notice natural loose avalanches or rollerballs around cliffs, rocks, or trees, avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 30 degrees to reduce your chances of being caught in a wet avalanche.
