At mid and upper elevations strong South-Westerly winds and new snow have created soft slabs on steep wind loaded slopes. These slabs lie on a variety of older conditions from weak faceted snow on Northerly aspects to hard crusts on Southerly aspects. These slabs could be triggered today by backcountry users on steep slopes and near rocky areas. At upper elevations expect slabs to three feet in depth with slabs at mid elevations to two feet. At low elavations pockets of slab could be triggered on steep wind loaded terrain to a foot in depth.
