DANGEROUS slabs up to four feet in depth lie upon weak layers of light density snow and slick crusts. High winds and over an inch of moisture in the past 48 hours have added additional loading on lee slopes. In the Rock Springs drainage three skiers were caught in a slide they triggered two days ago and a skier triggered a four foot deep slide there yesterday. Natural slides have also released on moderately steep wind loaded slopes at all elevations. Shallow snowpacks at low and mid elevations are very rotten. A snowmobiler was buried in a slide near Togwotee Pass yesterday. He was recovered quickly, uninjured.Travel in avalanche terrain at mid and high elevations is NOT recommended.
