Points saillants

The hazard will increae to HIGH at the mid and upper elevations and to MODERATE at the lower elevations as high winds and new snow combine to form new soft slabs. Yesterday slab avalanches were triggered on Maverick Mountain and Taylor Mountain. The potential for natural avalanche activity will increase as the day progresses. Soft slabs will likely step down to persistant buried layers of weak faceted snow and slick crusts with resulting crown depths of four feet. Pockets of slabs are possible on steep wind loaded aspects at the lower elevations. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED AT THE MID AND UPPER ELEVATIONS AFTER THE MORNING HOURS.
