Avalanche Summary

Steep slopes at higher elevations have been layered with drifted snow. These are the places where you could trigger an avalanche. Look for and avoid dense or hard snow below ridgelines and in spots downwind of terrain features.

Snowfall on Thursday night could be intense. There will be a blanket of fresh snow on Friday that will disguise the older layering. Where the new snow adds up to more than about eight inches, it can avalanche on steep slopes. These will be small avalanches but could be easy to trigger.
