Forecast Snow Stability: Above 900 metres the snowpack will remain firm and icy. Below this level it will soften slightly through the day. In both cases stability will remain good. Any fresh deposits will be very shallow and not significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It will be cloudy with a few light snow showers possible during the day. The freezing level will be around 800 metres overnight, rising to around 1000 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with some periods of sunshine during the morning. Strong Southerly winds and a freezing level of around 1100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is mainly above 800 metres, below this level it is distinctly patchy. The surface of the previously damp snowpack froze overnight and remained firm and icy through the day. Stability is generally good throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
