Avalanche Activity

Over a wide area new snow. Increase in avalanche danger.

On steep slopes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of the snowfall. Avalanches can be released by a single winter sport participant and reach large size in isolated cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and on steep north facing slopes. Ground avalanches are possible on very steep grassy slopes. Decrease in avalanche danger below approximately 1800 m.
