Avalanche Activity

A mostly favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

A clear night will be followed by favourable avalanche conditions mostly. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the danger. From the middle of the day individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized wet and gliding avalanches are possible. This applies on rocky sunny slopes in all altitude zones. Moist avalanches can be released by people or triggered naturally.

Snowpack Structure

The conditions remain spring-like. As a consequence of low relative humidity a crust will form on the surface during the night. Shady slopes: The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Sunny slopes: The snowpack will become wet all the way through as the day progresses.

Tendency

Gradual increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.
