Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately stabilised windslab on steep North to East aspects above 950m. Minor cornices in place over the above aspects. Good stability in most other places and altitudes. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers dying out overnight then mainly dry. Strong South-West airflow becoming light Westerly by dawn. Freezing near summits but slightly colder later. Observed Weather Influences: Persistent snow showers during the day. Strong South-West winds. Cold but freezing level rising to summit level later. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately bonded humid windslab mainly at the top of steep North to East aspects above 950m. Minor new cornice development above the same locations. Bare ground elsewhere covered with widespread damp fresh snow above 600m. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
