Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining snowpack will continue to consolidate and stability will be generally good. Any wet snow instabilities will be isolated and mainly in steep, high North through East to South-East aspects. Some cornices will remain on these same aspects and present a hazard as the freezing level rises. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Storm force West-South-West winds easing slightly overnight to Gale force during Friday. Rain showers clearing on Thursday evening followed by a dry day. The freezing level will remain around 1500 metres before lowering to 1000 meters, rising back to well above the summits by late morning. Observed Weather Influences: Storm force West-South-West winds. Frequent rain showers. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Localised wet snow instabilities are present on North through East to South-East aspects above 90metres. These areas are not extensive and are mainly confined to wind sheltered locations such as steep corrie headwalls, gully tops and the leeward side of ridge crests. Wet sloughs and cornice collapse were noted on these same aspects at 1100 metres. Elsewhere and at lower elevations the snowpack continues to consolidate and stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
