Dry slab avalanches are possible in isolated cases as before.

The wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases. Additionally in some places dry avalanches can also be released in near-ground layers. At transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example and on steep shady slopes the avalanche danger is higher.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 5 to 15 cm of snow fell yesterday. The new snow is very loosely bonded in all altitude zones. The soft wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack.
