Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack will remain well bonded and stable throughout and be most widespread around coire back walls and the plateau above 900 metres. Shallow pockets of windslab will develop on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. During the day these will thaw and remaining cornices will become unstable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Some light precipitation overnight on fresh Southerly winds. This will fall as snow above 1000 metres. A dry day is expected with South-South-Easterly winds increasing through the afternoon from moderate to strong. Overnight the 1000 metre freezing level will rise to above the summits, where it will remain for the duration of the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry cloudy day with light Southerly winds. The midday freezing level was at 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of new snow above 900 metres. The old snowpack continues to consolidate and is well bonded and stable throughout. The most widespread snowfields are around coire back walls and the plateau above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
