Forecast Snow Stability: The surface layers of the patchy snow will firm up overnight becoming hard and icy: Gradually softening at lower elevations during the day. All deposits will be well bonded and stable. Largest areas will be encountered in wind sheltered locations on mainly North to East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Ridge of high pressure developing, giving dry conditions with a night frost. Sub-zero temperatures at 930 metres overnight rising to plus two degrees centigrade by mid-afternoon. Light South-Easterly winds overnight becoming moderate Southerlies during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A cloudy but mainly dry day with very light Southerly winds. Freezing level around the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: Only patchy snow cover remaining. Surface layers were starting to soften at lower elevations but remained firmer on the highest summits. All deposits are well consolidated and stable. Largest areas of snow are to be found in wind sheltered locations on mainly North to East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
