Forecast Snow Stability: Remaining instabilities in recent windslab accumulations will consolidate through the period. Areas most affected will be gullies and coire rims with a North to East aspect above around 1150 metres. Wet snow surface instabilities possible on steep slopes exposed to the sun. Cornices in the sun will be prone to collapse. Elsewhere snowpack stability will be generally good. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A dry sunny day. Light Southerly winds will increase in strength to moderate. The freezing level will rise above the summits during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A few scattered showers fell as snow above around 900 metres. Winds were light Southerly. The freezing level rose to around 1100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is gradually consolidating. Instabilities remain in recent windslab accumulations with North to East aspects above 1000 metres most affected. Some surface instabilities were noted on slopes exposed to the sun. Elsewhere snowpack stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
