Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of falling temperatures a crust will form on the surface on Saturday.

In the last few days mostly small wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at elevated altitudes and on shady slopes. These are to be evaluated with care and prudence in particular in terrain where there is a danger of falling.

Snowpack Structure

The strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. The high temperatures on Friday gave rise to rapid moistening of the snowpack.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
