Forecast Snow Stability: Windslab will continue to develop with avalanches likely on West to North aspects above 800 metres. The greatest instability will be in steep locations such as gullies, corrie head walls and convexities. Cross loading will affect South-West and North-East aspects. Fragile cornices will continue to develop on the same aspects. Between 500 and 800 meters, moderately bonded windslab will continue to develop on steep banks, convexities and burn lines. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Snowfall from the middle of the night onwards on gale force South-East becoming East-South-Easterly winds. During the night the freezing level will rise to 900 metres for a few hours before gradually falling to 500 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Gale force South-Easterly winds with snowfall and significant drifting above 500 metres. The freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Accumulations of windslab continued to build on West to North aspects above 500m. South-West and North-East aspects were affected by cross loading. The greatest instability is above 800 metres in steep wind sheltered locations such as corrie back walls, gullies and crag aprons. Fragile cornices continue to build above these aspects. On these aspects between 500 and 800 metres moderately bonded windslab is present on steep banks, burn lines and convexities. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
