Forecast Snow Stability: As the freezing level drops the snow cover will start to refreeze, particularly around the higher tops. New accumulations will develop in wind sheltered locations, mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. These new deposits are expected to be shallow and generally inconsequential. Cornice and icefall collapse will initially remain a hazard, stability improving as the freezing level drops. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Becoming cooler with the freezing level dropping, expected to be around 900 metres most of the day, dropping to 800 metres by end of the afternoon. Light rain overnight, turning to snow as the freezing level drops. Strong South-Westerlies easing and veering to become light North-Westerlies by late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A cloudy day with light rain throughout the morning before easing and some bright spells in the afternoon. Very strong winds throughout from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack continues to diminish in the well established thaw conditions. The snow cover is soft but remains generally well bonded. Greatest snow amounts are found mainly on South-West through North-West to North-East aspects above 700 metres. Cornice and icefall collapse remain a significant hazard. The avalanche hazard is Low.
