The weather will be warm. The early morning will see favourable conditions generally, but the danger of wet and gliding avalanches will increase later. The weather conditions facilitated a substantial favourable transformation of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. In particular at the base of rock walls and on extremely steep east, southeast and west facing slopes more medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. This also applies on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. , when first humidification reaches the persistent layers within the snowpack. Backcountry tours and off-piste skiing should be started and concluded very early.
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was good. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften quickly. The spring-like weather conditions gave rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack. These conditions facilitated a substantial favourable transformation of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. The snowpack is moist and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes: Distinct weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack. The snowpack will be moist at low and intermediate altitudes.
As the temperature drops there will be only a slight decrease in the danger of wet and gliding avalanches.
