Forecast Snow Stability: Lingering wet snow instabilities will dissipate as the day progresses. These will mostly be found on very steep slopes of a North through North-East to South-East aspect above 950 metres. During the day the snowpack will be subject to slow consolidation as temperatures fluctuate, with a firm snow surface above 1000 metres at dawn. Snow patches and ribbons will remain in depressions and hollows below 950 metres. Residual cornices will remain prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Rain overnight will dissipate leaving a dry day. Winds will be mostly from the South-West decreasing in strength from storm force to moderate by the afternoon. The freezing level will be around 1500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Rain at all elevations overnight preceded light rain showers during the day. Winds were from the South-South-West and storm force for the duration of the period. A gust of 102 mph was recorded on Cairn Gorm at 1245 metres. The freezing level was well above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has become moist on all aspects and elevations due to rain. A period of instability overnight has now passed leaving a slowly consolidating trend. The greatest extents of snow are found on North-West through North to East aspects above 950 metres, with ribbons and snow patches below. Residual cornices remain. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
