Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh deposits of unstable windslab will develop progressively throughout Tuesday daytime. Areas most affected will be North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres, primarily around coire rims, gully tops and ridge flanks. Elsewhere, the snowpack will be firm, icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Storm force South-South-Westerly winds will veer West-South-West in the early hours, easing through the day to become fresh. The freezing level will be above the summits overnight and then steadily decrease to around 800 metres. Light rain precipitation is expected which will gradually fall as snow to 700 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Light overnight snowfall above 900 metres. Dry throughout the morning with precipitation resuming early afternoon. Southerly winds rapidly increased throughout the morning to become gale force. The midday summit temperature was -3.3 degrees Celsius. ObservedSnowStability: Generally good stability in all locations with the existing snowpack being firm and icy throughout. Fresh shallow deposits of windslab are developing in wind sheltered areas on Northerly aspects above 950 metres, although these are not extensive. The avalanche hazard is Low.
