Forecast Weather Influences: South-South-East winds increase to storm force overnight, dropping to gale force during the day. Heavy snow in the latter part of the night will turn to rain during the day at all levels. The freezing level will rise above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Very strong South-South-Westerly winds and snow showers. The freezing level rose to around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of poorly bonded windslab continue to develop with greatest accumulations on North-West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. Fragile cornices are present above these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
