The fresh snow as well as the sometimes large wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2200 m. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Below approximately 2200 m small to medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible.

20 to 30 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2400 m. The southwesterly wind has transported the new snow. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. In particular at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In these regions rain fell up to 2200 m. The rain gave rise to moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2200 m. In all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

As a consequence of falling temperatures, the activity of dry and moist avalanches will appreciably decrease.
