Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and on steep shady slopes dry slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack remains subject to considerable local variations. The strong wind has transported a lot of snow. In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls sometimes deep wind slabs formed. In some places wind slabs are lying on a moist old snowpack. The wind will transport the fresh and old snow. Some fresh snow and in particular the wind slabs that are forming adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls represent the main danger.
