Regions

Glacier.

Sunshine and lollipops! There is great, fast travel conditions for getting alpine views.

Allow extra time for your egress to manage awkward downhill travel on the widespread breakable surface crust.

Confidence

High

  • Confidence is due to a stable weather pattern; little change is expected for several days.

Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches observed today. Small solar triggered loose wet was observed Saturday from steep, rocky features in the alpine.

Snowpack Summary

A breakable surface crust exists on all but high alpine slopes, which is problematic for skiing.

The mid and lower snowpacks are well settled and strong. There is a small layer of surface hoar down ~1m, but it has not been reactive recently and continues to break down.

Weather Summary

High pressure remains dominant over the next several days. A mild alpine temperature inversion will also remain.
