Kananaskis.
A little bit of snow has freshened the landscape, but be aware that previously formed wind slabs are now somewhat hidden. These wind slabs may be human triggerable in steep or unsupported terrain.
By Wednesday morning up to 10cm of fresh snow will have fallen. Midday temps should reach -7 with moderate to strong SW winds. By late Wednesday the winds will be near 125km/h at ridgetop, with the same on Thursday.
Nothing noted or reported today.
Up to 10cm of new snow in the past 24 hours, with less in the Eastern ranges (such as Highwood Pass). This overlies extensive amounts of tracks in the popular areas and wind slab most everywhere else. Alpine areas are extensively wind damaged with hard wind slabs present in most places. The November crust (now buried 20 to 30cm) tapers out quickly above 2200m.
