Little Yoho.
Conditions remain mostly unchanged and the snowpack is static due to an absence of inputs and cold temperatures.
Small windslabs may exist in isolated alpine locations, so watch for these if venturing into wind affected alpine terrain.
No new avalanches were observed or reported in Little Yoho today.
In the neighboring Banff, Yoho & Kootenay forecast region, Sunshine Ski Hill reported some small windslabs triggered by explosives in alpine terrain. These were less reactive than yesterday.
Wind effect exists in the high alpine, but many sheltered areas are holding soft snow. The mid-pack is generally strong; however, a facet layer can be found near the ground in shallow snowpack areas. At treeline, average snowpack depth ranges from 110 to 140 cm.
Cold, dry with intermittently strong westerly winds is the theme for the next few days:
Wednesday will be sunny with light to moderate winds.
Thursday will bring moderate to strong west winds and a few centimetres new snow.
Friday will by sunny again with moderate NW ridgetop winds.
