We are off to a good start to the winter season. Field trips confirm a shallow, but mostly supportive snowpack at treeline and above but be prepared for battle below treeline, including getting across open creeks and many obstacles. Ice climbers should be wary of pockets of windslab sitting on ledges and sluffing in confined gullies.
