Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions last through the weekend. Chances are, you will feel collapsing and see cracking to remind you. You can easily trigger a very large avalanche that breaks near the ground. Slopes that face west through north to southeast are the most dangerous. Place lots of room between you and any suspect terrain because you can trigger one from lower-angled slopes adjacent to or below avalanche paths. Slopes less than about 30 degrees that are far from large, steep slopes offer safer options.
