Highlights
Very strong southwest to west winds have continued to scour and erode the snowpack. However some hard and soft slabs one to three feet in depth have been deposited on steep wind loaded aspects and in cliff areas. Yesterday a two foot deep soft slab was remotely triggered by skiers in a steep avalanche prone area of avalanche bowl where a snowboarder triggered a fatal slide in January. These slabs likely exist as isolated pockets at the lower elevations, as pockets in the mid elevations and as dangerous hard slabs at the upper elevations.
