Highlights
At the upper elevations isolated pockets of shallow soft surface slab formed by northerly winds exist. Yesterday a skier triggered one of these small slabs on a southerly aspect in Jensen Canyon. Denser older slabs to three feet in depth persist in steep wind loaded cliff areas. Although none of these older slabs have been triggered for several days they still present a hazard to skiers in rocky cliffy areas and to larger triggers such as snowmobiles. These conditions extend into the upper portion of the mid elevations. At the lower portion of the mid elevations and the lower elevations mostly stable snow exist and avalanches are unlikely.
