The general avalanche hazard is LOW at all elevations today. With continued warm overnight temperatures and above normal temperatures in the mountains for for several days, loose snow sluffs and wet slides on a variety of aspects are possible. On very steep Northerly aspects above 9500' shallow hard slabs could also be triggered; warming will increase their sensitivity. Colorado and Montana, both currently having less stable snowpacks have had recent avalanche accidents(including a fatality) and can be reviewed by accessing the forecast centers through www.avalanche.org

A trough moving in from the west will bring snow showers to the peaks.
