Avalanche Summary

Over a foot of snow fell over the last couple of days with moderate southwest winds drifting additional snow onto leeward slopes. Most avalanches you trigger will be small, but if you find a wind-drifted slope just below the ridgeline, you might trigger an avalanche big enough to bury you on a steep, sustained slope. If you are planning on traveling on slopes much steeper than around 35 degrees, then pay attention to terrain traps such as a cliff below you, and consider how large the slope is and if it could produce a large avalanche before traveling directly on it.
