Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Strong west winds have formed soft slabs up to two feet in depth on leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon lighter density snow and slick hard old snow surfaces. Humans who ride or ski into steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones could trigger these slabs. If significant warming occurs these slabs and loose snow point slides could release spontaneously.
