Highlights

The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE and will rise during the day as new snow falls and strong ridge crest winds load leeward aspects. New soft slabs up to one foot deep will build as the day progresses and put an additional load on exisiting hard older slabs. The older hard slabs are up to three feet deep and in places lie upon weak layers of faceted snow. These new soft slabs and older hard slabs could be triggered by skiers and snowmobilers who venture into steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones.
