Avalanche conditions are dangerous, especially on slopes that face the north half of the compass and were recently wind-loaded. Avoid these slopes. In sheltered areas, evaluate the snowpack before committing to steep slopes. If you observe cracking or sounds of whumpfing, adjust to a more conservative plan. Remotely-triggered avalanches are a possibility on any northerly slope. Southerly-facing slopes without recent drifting are the safest option right now.
