Avalanche Summary

Strong winds followed by warm weather and finally, rain, have formed stiff crusts on the surface of the snowpack. There are very few slopes where you can trigger an avalanche due to these stiff surfaces and our unusually shallow snowpack. The few slopes you should approach with caution are where you find a thin slab of wind-drifted snow in the alpine on north-facing slopes.
