Avalanche Summary

Wind-drifted features at higher elevations are the most problematic and likely places to trigger an avalanche. With more snow and strong westerly wind, fresh slabs can build quickly. The most troublesome areas are on steep slopes just below ridgelines, around rock outcrops, or along the sides of cross-loaded gullies. Lower-angle, wind-sheltered slopes are safer terrain choices.
