Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche at higher, more exposed elevations on easterly-facing slopes. Look for and avoid slopes with cornices and stiff lens-shaped pillows of snow that feel hollow or drum-like directly below ridgelines or on the sides of gullies. Wind-sheltered slopes at lower elevations offer safer travel options.
