Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Surface slabs to two feet in depth exist on steep wind loaded slopes at all elevations. If triggered these slabs have the potential to pull out deeper, harder slabs that lie on slick crusts and weak layers of faceted snow. On Tuesday a rider triggered a deep slab on a steep easterly slope of East Leidy Mountain. Similar events could be triggered today by riders or skiers.
