Avalanche Summary

Use caution around upper-elevation slopes where you find freshly drifted snow. The most dangerous areas are steep, northerly-facing slopes, especially confined gullies or couloirs that catch drifted snow. A small early-season avalanche can take you for a dangerous ride.
