Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche from a distance or below if connected to slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. Avalanche conditions remain dangerous, especially on steep northerly and easterly-facing slopes. Assume any slope with continuous snow on these aspects is dangerous with weak snow beneath a slab. You may not see natural avalanche activity, but triggering an avalanche two to three feet deep is still likely. Frequent cracking and collapsing highlights how sensitive the snowpack is. You can find safer riding below the treeline where there is less slab and on lower angled slopes.
