Forecast Snow Stability: Initially a new thin cover of weaker windslab on steep North to East aspects, then becoming a little more widespread above 850m on steepest South to West aspects during the day. Gully tops and coire rims will be the most affected areas. A dusting of fresh snow in most other locations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Wintry weather in prospect. Much colder temperatures and occasional snow showers on moderate to strong West -South-Westerly then abruptly North-Easterly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snowfall quickly supplanted by torrential rain and mild temperatures at all altitudes. ObservedSnowStability: Wet, diminished snowpack limited to occasional snow patches below coire rims, a few gullies and some favoured hollows above 800m. Any overnight drifted snow was quickly washed away by torrential rain and mild temperatures from the early hours onwards. The avalanche hazard is Low.
