Tetons

The snowpack is mostly stable in the Tetons and the avalanche danger is Low. Low hazard does not mean no hazard exists. Isolated pockets of small wind slab could be triggered in very steep terrain at the upper elevations. A gradual warming trend continues and wet loose avalanches will become possible during the afternoon as sunshine and warm temperatures weaken the snow surface on sunlit slopes. In the valleys, be wary of exposure to roof slides.

The weak system that brought today’s clouds will continue to pass through tonight and Monday. Some areas, particularly east of the Continental Divide could see brief periods of light snow from this system. The thin cloud cover is expected to result in temperatures being similar to today's. The general avalanche danger will be rated as Low in the Tetons where the snowpack is generally stable and Moderate in the Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails areas where old weaknesses pose a threat of failing to a large trigger such as a snow machine hitting a weak, thin spot on a slope.
