    The snowpack is generally stable right now. Most of the wind drifts and wind slabs that formed mid week are stubborn and don't seem to want to crack out at this point. The only places that a person might still trigger something would be near high elevation ridges on very, very steep slopes that have recent deposits of wind drifted snow.

    The majority of backcountry travelers won't encounter any avalanche problems today.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Riding conditions remain pretty good. You'll find some areas where the wind has scoured and stiffened the snow surface. However, there are plenty of areas that are holding excellent powder. Temperatures got into the mid 20s Friday and dropped into the teens overnight. They have been warming over the last few hours. Wind was generally light to moderate in speed from the southwest over the last 24 hours.

Mountain Weather: We'll have some high clouds today with sun filtering through. Temperatures will get into the low 30s. Wind should stay fairly light from the south or southeast. We have an active weather pattern starting Sunday. A storm moving through to our south will feed some moisture into our area. Snow amounts won't be large. I'm expecting 2 to 4 inches in the mountains. A better looking storm is shaping up for Tuesday and Wednesday which should bring a larger amount of snow.
