The snowpack is mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely today except for a slight chance to trigger small slabs in and around high elevation cliff bands. Look for signs of loading on steep terrain features and avoid areas where a very small slide could have serious consequences.

Skies are expected to be mostly sunny tomorrow. A temperature inversion will form overnight with valleys dropping below zero and the mountains in the single digits. The inversion will break in the afternoon as temperatures climb into the twenties in both the valleys and the mountains. Northwesterly to westerly winds will be 10 to 20 mph. The snowpack is mostly stable and the avalanche hazard will remain Low in all the forecast areas. At the higher elevations, isolated pockets of winds slab may be encountered on steep slopes. On solar aspects during the warmest periods of the day, snow surfaces may destabilize and result in small wet loose avalanches. Backcountry travelers should only expose one person at a time in steep avalanche terrain and carry rescue gear.
